It is the little things that make a big difference

Our commitment to operating in a socially responsible manner is reflected in the way we do business each and every day — from the way we engage with stakeholders, right through to socially-responsible decision-making.

We take pride in positively contributing to the community by behaving ethically, providing financial aid through sponsorships, program funding and job opportunities for the disadvantaged, employing local employees and using local suppliers, and acknowledging and respecting Indigenous culture.

These are just some of the ways that we uphold our commitment to being socially responsible:

Provide ongoing funding for malaria and dengue fever research at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, and parrot fish research at James Cook University.

Enable young Australians to fulfil their dreams, such as sponsoring and mentoring Rockhampton Pro-Am golfer, Tanner Ward.

Engage and financially support local community groups, such as the Police Youth Citizens Club, and Rotary Clubs. Each year we help to fund production of the Queensland Police Legacy Child Safety Handbook, which is targeted at children and parents and covers topics such as nutrition, personal safety, drug awareness and bullying.

Participate annually in the University of the Sunshine Coast’s World Environmental Day celebrations.

Implement eco-friendly initiatives such as eWater, desktop recycling programs and OSCA waste management systems.

Bronze sponsor of the 2014 Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) Conference.
